This is the kind of zombie that we like, actually: no putrefying flesh or rotting limbs here! But who can claim that there's no kind of danger in her presence? Not us!
1) Can you tell us a bit about your ethnic background and childhood? Are you really a native of NYC?
I am certainly a New York City native; born, raised and residing in this concrete jungle. My family heritage is a combination of Puerto Rican and Taino. The further back you go, you’ll find traces of Spaniard and German. I am my mother’s only child, and my father’s oldest daughter.
2) Of course, we just have to know where your passion for all things fetish came from. Is there any specific memory that led you to this path of sin? ;)
Live in sin… come on in! I’ve always had a passion for the stranger things in life. I am a dominant woman by nature, and I love to experiment with what I may have once perceived as unusual. It’s a perfect mindset for a kinkster, which is exactly what I became. It wasn’t any one specific memory, but a series of moments and decisions that led me to where I am now.
3) From where was the Lady Zombie persona created?
Lady Zombie started as an alias that summed up my passions for romanticism and horror in one phrase. Nowadays, my BDSM clients like to say things like, “She is as cold as the dead, but this Lady is very much alive.” It makes me laugh. Nonetheless, it stuck, and I have built my career around it.
4) Many dominas are sometimes careful of their image and are reluctant to adopt certain poses for photographic purposes. Do you draw the line towards certain type of visual themes?
I have posed for fine art photographs where I will reveal one breast, or implied nudes where the shadows mask my body just so. Photography is an art form I adore, and as long as it is beautiful, tasteful and not ridiculously raunchy, I’m all for it. I have taken “submissive” photos before, but it isn’t something I regularly do. I find it interesting to explore other roles through art.
5) Since you’re an organizer of many fetish events, what for sure constitutes the success of any such gatherings?
The producers nail down the location, the time, and the performers. The hostess promotes, makes sure everyone is having a wonderful time, and is available to handle anything. The guests explore their fetishes with their play partners in a public setting. All of these things are crucial for a successful fetish event, as well as many other contributing factors.
6) How does your musical work influence your modeling activities and vice-versa?
My music doesn’t necessary affect my modeling, and my modeling doesn’t necessarily affect my music. All of my artistic outlets are directly affected by my life experiences and emotions created by these experiences. I dig within myself for my inspiration.
7) Now tell us about your band, Deviant Trust, and your unique vocal range (Pat Benatar meets Madonna? Impressive!) Where can we learn more?
Deviant Trust was created by Amazin A and I in the beginning of 2008, and joined later on by Jelly Brain and Suicide Gus. Together, the four of us have created an edgy, experimental blend of the rock, trip hop and darkwave genres. Our songs are alternately vengeful and sexy. In high school, I was a vocal music major. I have always had a wide vocal range, reaching from second alto to first soprano. Now that my voice has matured, I still find that I can maintain drastic pitch variations along with adding my own unique sound quality to the mix.
8) Are you planning to do more acting in independent or high-profile productions? What would be the ideal role of a lifetime for you?
I love to act, and there are some upcoming projects in the works that I can’t speak about yet, unfortunately! When a role appeals to me, I accept it. The role of a lifetime? It would have to be a leading role in a well-written, well-directed, beautifully filmed psychological thriller such as Silence of the Lambs, Donnie Darko, The Sixth Sense and other films of that nature.
9) What would you say is your main weakness towards clothing and accessories? Are you a shoe person or corset fanatic or…? And what is that thing about latex that drives any model wild?
You hit BOTH nails on the head! I am obsessed with shoes, boots and corsets. A perfect pair of heels will have me whipping out the credit card immediately. And I love the restriction and comfort a good corset offers. I’d rather spend more money on quality fetish attire that will last, than have a hundred items that are all falling apart after only a wear or two. I don’t actually have a vast latex collection, but I do adore it. It is extremely high maintenance, and my low level of patience might have something to do with my not having more of it at this point in time. I adore a gorgeous submissive at my feet in the perfect latex outfit.
10) How can a pro domme stay on top when there is much “competition” in the field?
Personally, I am not looking to compete with any practicing, professional Domina out there today. We all have our own clientele based on our specialties, interests and the specific kinks of our clients. I stand out to a particular type of submissive, and once they experience a session with me, it’s unlikely that they will continue to look elsewhere.
11) Being a fetish/alternative model and practicing dominatrix, do you still find time to “play” in your intimate time… or do you prefer relaxing on the couch wearing a comfortable bathrobe & bunny slippers? :D
I love my leisure time! There is nothing like a glass of wine and an hour or two of great TV shows, or curling up with a terrific novel. But I am also a highly sexual creature, and my consort and I always find time to play, no matter how busy the both of us may be! We have a gratifying relationship in so many wonderful ways. I am a lucky lady.
12) What in your view is still the biggest misconception from the general public towards the BDSM scene? And what would be the best way to educate people?
The word “freak” is used so often in a negative connotation when a vanilla individual refers to the BDSM community. People so often fear what they do not understand, and they lash out with cruel words. The best way to educate people is to give them something to read, preferably written by accredited persons from our community. I am talking about books here… not a Google search! Some people find it helpful to attend live demonstrations given by local kink facilitators and educators.
13) Lucky Question #13 for you only! LOL - Any plans to visit and work in Montreal soon? You see, we at Cult Sirens have a little fetish/passion for lady vampires… and sexy zombies are welcome, too!!!
I would love to visit Montreal in the near future, although I don’t have a trip planned just yet. And I may have fangs (a lot of them) but that doesn’t make me a vampire. I respond strongly to my inner beast, which is feline.
